Joanna Cohen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006 from Johns Hopkins University and a Juris Doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law in 2009. While at Johns Hopkins, Ms. Cohen interned for the Nassau County District Attorney, Baltimore Juvenile Public Defender, as well as the Mayor of Baltimore’s Office of Criminal Justice. She also volunteered at the Baltimore Teen Court.
During law school, she summered at a large insurance defense firm. She also worked for the Maryland State Legislature and Nassau County Family Court. At American University, Washington College of Law, Ms. Cohen was a line editor for the Criminal Law Brief, as well as a student attorney in the Women and the Law Clinic.
Ms. Cohen is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey.
