Frank Catelli graduated from Hofstra University School of Law in 1981, and was admitted to practice law in the Courts of New York State in 1982. He is also admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. 

Mr. Catelli’s litigation experience is extensive.  He has served as senior trial counsel for Hanover Insurance Company successfully trying serious personal injury cases to verdict.  Mr. Catelli’s success has not only been on behalf of defendants. In over twenty years of trial experience, he has tried cases on behalf of plaintiffs to verdict and won significant monetary damages for them that have been affirmed on appeal. He has also been Trial Counsel to other law firms. Mr. Catelli has appellate practice experience, having written appellate briefs and appeared for oral argument in the First and Second Departments of the Appellate Divisions of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Mr. Catelli is a member of the Nassau/Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association, Nassau County Bar Association and New York State Bar Association.  Active in community service, Mr. Catelli is a former active volunteer firefighter, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Glenwood Fire Company and an exempt member of the Glenwood Fire Company.  He is also involved with fund raising for the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital, and he also volunteers with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

In combining his interest in community service together with his legal expertise, Frank Catelli now concentrates on the representation and defense of fire and ambulance districts, private emergency services, fire sprinkler/suppression companies and municipalities. These cases cover a broad range of legal theories, among them federal civil rights violations, sexual harassment, motor vehicle liability, construction/labor law, medical malpractice, wrongful termination, insurance coverage and landowner liability.

Mr. Catelli is a former Director of the National Association of Fire and Emergency Services Attorneys. He frequently lectures fire districts and ambulance districts on sexual harassment in the workplace and current Federal and State decisions of interest.  He was a featured speaker at the Firehouse World Exposition & Conference held in San Diego, California in 2005. He participated on a panel of attorneys from around the United States to discuss legal issues facing Fire Districts at the Fire Department Instructors Conference being held in Indianapolis, Indiana in April of 2007.
