Kirandeep Madra’s legal experience covers a wide spectrum of health care practice. Currently she focuses her practice on medical malpractice claims where she has defended numerous doctors, hospitals, and nursing homes. During her legal career she has represented over ninety skilled nursing facilities in New York State with issues as varied as guardianship hearings pursuant to Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law, advance directives, Medicaid fair hearings, to negotiating with Federal Agencies and advising in the areas of vendor contracts, supply contracts and medical equipment. She has also created, developed, audited, trained and implemented HIPAA policies and procedures for client nursing homes. Further, she has provided counsel to physicians and medical staff regarding regulations of the Drug Enforcement Agency and Medicare and Medicaid compliance. She is uniquely qualified to understand the pressures faced by health care organizations and practitioners.
She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Healthcare Compliance Association, and the New York State Bar Association.
She graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree and graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 2002.
In her spare time, she provides pro bono legal services and has volunteered her time with a notable charity providing funds in the treatment of Cancer.
