Stuart J. Manzione
Stu Manzione earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1987 from St. John’s University School of Law. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and Salutatorian from Long Island University, C.W. Post in 1984.
Stu Manzione focuses his practice on the defense and trial of matters of medical malpractice and professional negligence, involving physicians, dentists, hospitals and nursing homes. He also handles matters involving the trial of premises liability, products liability, automobile liability and general negligence matters involving serious and/or catastrophic injury and death.
Stu first joined Furey & Furey, P.C. in September 1987 and has been a partner with the firm since 1995. Stu is admitted to practice in the State of New York and is also admitted in the United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is also admitted to the Federal Court of Appeals and is admitted to argue before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Stu is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers Association of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. He has lectured to physicians and hospital staff regarding risk reduction strategies in several areas of patient care and has previously lectured at the annual conference of The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has also lectured on various topics of interest to the insurance defense community and Bar Associations and taught paralegal studies at C.W. Post College.
Stu is also active in community affairs. He has served as President of the Board of Trustees for the Ascent Funding Organization, a parent organization supporting Ascent, A School for Individuals with Autism and actively fund raises for several autism societies. Stu also founded the Young Autism Program Charitable Foundation in 1998 and served as its President for five years, providing funding for the Young Autism Program as well as the assistance of other children and families affected by autism. Stu has also been active in his town’s baseball league and was on the Board of Directors for the Glenwood/Glen Head Baseball League.
Stu was selected by Pulse Magazine as a Top 10 Legal Eagle on Long Island in 2015 and has been selected by his peers to Super Lawyers as a Top Rated Medical Malpractice Attorney in New York each year since 2013 to the present.
